Hello there again, Lance13 here with the fastest way to 99 smithing from level 1. Smithing can be an extremely expensive skill at higher levels, what you will need to have to be able to succeed in this guide is ores obviously, and goldsmithing gaunts. If used in conjunction with my mining guide at level 80 plus it will not be nearly as expensive, which I will explain in great detail later. :3
Okay so family crest needs to be completed and you need the gold smithing gaunts, you can switch between the cooking gaunts and goldsmithing gaunts whenever you want.
Lvl 1-29
Okay so this guide will start much differently then any other, before you smith anything at all, do the quest 'Knight's Sword' All you need for this is 1 iron bar, you don't need a smithing level to buy this off the grand exchange, and you require no smithing level to start the quest. If you choose not to though you can mine copper and tin to make bronze bars and the armour/weapons with them.. But I highly recommend the quest first, it gives you enough experience to get to 29, and by the time you get to level 10 with bronze, you could have been 29 lol.
Lvls 29-40
I recommend Iron throughout these levels. You'll make a small profit, and it's pretty fast. Just head to Yanille, mine it, bank it, mine it, bank it. Then once you think you have enough, smelt these bars in Al-Karid, and come back to Yanille after and smith them into knives if you want profit, or the highest level things you can make if you want exp.
XP:Dependant on how fast you mine, and smelt, etc
GP:Dependant on how fast you mine, and smelt, etc
Method-1
Lvls 40-68
Gold bars with goldsmithing gauntlets, it is a bit expensive but it's much better than any other method around this time. Get the gloves from the quest and buy a massive amount of gold ore, head to Al-Karid and start smelting, not much else on this part really. Although if you are good at it, you can superheat at the same time, the two won't interfere with each other so you can smelt nearly twice as fast.
XP: 55k xp/hr w/o superheating. 110k xp/hr w/ superheating+40k xp/hr in magic
GP:-340k gp/hr
Lvls 68-88
This method once again is the fastest but also most expensive at this point. Mithril platebodies are great experience, especially with stealing creation tools. They are expensive, but if you have the cash, they are worth it. Trust me.
XP:130-150k xp/hr
GP:-2.5-2.9m gp/hr!
Lvls 88-99
Now you can start adamant platebodies, they have the same method as mithril platebodies, they are just a bit less expensive, and much faster xp.
XP:150-180k xp/hr
GP:-1.8-2.2m gp/hr
Method 2 Lvls 40-99
Okay this method is to be used in conjunction with the later part of the mining guide. For this you require 80 mining, which is a task all on its own. You will require goldsmithing gauntlets as well for this, and a ton of runes for superheating... Okay so what you will be doing is mining concentrated gold deposits in the Living Rock Caverns. You can superheat gold while mining it, at the same time, neither slows the other down and there is a bank deposit in the caverns, so use it after each load. This method is pretty cheap and also gets you a bunch of exp in three skills.
XP:60k xp/hr in smithing, mining and magic.
GP:-20k gp/hr
Good Luck with the smithing!
Its a very expensive skill but can be toned down a ton by using the second method, the only problem with it is the 80 mining, which will be a huge pain in the ass to achieve. But regardless, Good Luck!
